Story

It's still a mystery why Nakano, once a wild plain, has become a veritable forest. Suspicion is drawn to the strange pillar standing in the middle of the lake, which has existed since before Nakano underwent its now-expanding forestation. The concerns regarding Nakano's expansion are not just Home III's problem, however, but Shinjuku Babel's as well. Since the forest has also spread to Babel's front door, they have decided to send a high-ranking DB to investigate. On Home III's end, Snakeman has dispatched an Innocent to investigate the Obelisk, however demons in the area are obstruction its work there. DB Yamaguchi and DB Kano were sent ahead of you. It's your job to aid the Demon Busters and return with the Data.

When you arrive, you find DB Yamaguchi and DB Kano both operating on their ends of the Nakano field. Regardless of which one you choose to help, they send you to thin the numbers of various demons in Nakano. When you return, they're both awestruck by the appearance of the "high-ranking DB" that Shinjuku Babel dispatched: DB Mikanagi, and his partner demon Pazuzu. He stands amidst a pile of bodies, when suddenly he turns to you and chides you for getting involved when you don't even have a License. When he leaves, you take the Data from the Innocent back to Snakeman.

Though everything went off without a hitch, Snakeman notices how dour you seem, and you explain to him your frustration about not having a License. Seeing this, Snakeman offers to test you for a License, with the warning that the test is brutal, but he has high hopes for you....

How to Initiate

Talk to Snakeman after completing Act 5: The Thick Forest.

Walkthrough

  1. Talk with Snakeman.
  2. Talk with Innocent standing by the Obelisk in Nakano.
    1. Located in Nakano [X20:Y20-21].
  3. Assist either of the two Demon Buster. Each of them has their own task, differing from the other. (You can only choose one)
    1. DB Yamaguchi - Law shift
      1. Defeat 10 Gyukis, 20 Azumis.
      2. Report back to DB Yamaguchi.
    2. DB Kano - Chaos shift
      1. Defeat 10 Kelpies, 20 Cockatrices.
      2. Report back to DB Kano.
  4. Cut-scene.
  5. Talk with Innocent.
    1. You obtain Obelisk Data 01.
  6. Report to Snakeman.





Rewards


Notes

  • During Quests like these that require the defeat of demons, you personally need to land the killing blow on the demon in question. This means, even if you get some hits in, if they're not the final blow, they will not count towards your quota. However, your ally can help you in lowering their HP or just keeping you safe.
