Story

Another job is waiting from Snakeman which will take you further away than you've ever been thus far: Nakano. Nakano was once a grassless wasteland after the destruction of the Great Cataclysm, but at some point in time, vigorous plants began growing along the edge of the area, and now a large forest is beginning to expand into Suginami. A while ago, some investigators were dispatched to find the cause of the growing forest, however no word has come back from then as of yet. This is here you come in: Snakeman wants you to meet Nonaka, the leader of the survey team, to retrieve the "Nakano Investigation Data."

You head out to the Yagiya site and find Nonaka, but unfortunately he doesn't have the data with him; the other investigator has it, and he isn't entirely sure where the other one is. A short trip around the site reveals the Clumsy Researcher, currently hiding from Nonaka because he lost the "Nakano Investigation Data" after a demon attack. He at least mentions that it might be around the path to Shinjuku Babel, so you head in that direction.

At the mouth of the city, you find DB Tanaka cheerfully gabbing about his expensive find: the "Nakano Investigation Data." He won't give it up for free though. The situation is annoying, but you eventually manage to take back the Data and return it to Snakeman. As soon as you return, he's quick to tell you that you have a new mission lined up...

How to Initiate

Talk to Snakeman after completing Act 4: Azura.

Walkthrough

1. Talk with Snakeman.
2. Head to Nakano.
3. Talk with Nonaka. Located in Nakano [X17:Y22].
4. Talk with Clumsy Researcher. Located in Nakano [X17.5:Y21.5].
   When you talk to Clumsy Researcher, you will have 2 choices:
   1. "Hit him" (殴る) - Chaos shift.
      
   2. "Admonish him" (諭す) - Law shift.
5. Obtain Nakano Investigation DATA from DB Tanaka. Located in Nakano [X26:Y18].
   When you talk to DB Tanaka, you will have 3 choices.
   1. "Give 1,000 Macca" - No Alignment shift.
      
   2. "Persuade" (説得) - Law shift. (600 Macca) [Requires level 25+]
   3. "Take by force" (力で解決) - Chaos shift. [Requires level 25+]
6. Report to Snakeman.

Notes

• Use your Orb of Speed (Bound) or Orb of Speed (Small) (Sample), if you still have it, to travel from Home III to Nakano faster. After you retrieve the DATA, use a Traesto Stone to return back to Home III. (If your Home Point is located in Home III)
  • If you never set up a Home Point before, you will return to Virtual Battle instead.
