Room

  • Number of floors match number of party members, up to 5 floors total
  • Each floor is divided into 9 small rooms equally divided into 3 x 3 squares with invisible walls
  • Rooms are separated by doors, and when you kill all enemies in a room, the door to the adjacent rooms open (except the door to the center)
  • To enter the center room, you need to unlock the protection guard on the door
  • In the center, treasure chests containing Orbs or Cat's Eyes appear after killing the enemies
  • The teleport to proceed to the next room appears randomly on each floor after all enemies are killed
  • Once you advance to the next floor, you cannot return to the previous floor except via a pitfall trap

Commentary

Entry Requirements

  • Character is LV70+
  • Character has B-Class DB License or higher
  • DB-only dungeon - partner demon is de-summoned upon starting instance

NPCs

  • Class A Devil Buster (♀): Dungeon entrance. Lets the player in, and gives the Atavaka plugin.
  • Class A Devil Buster (♂): Appears in the Boss room after beating the Boss. Gives the key item for the Atavaka plugin.

Traps

Traps are scattered throughout each room which can cause damage, inflict status ailments, or randomly teleport the player. Traps that someone has already stepped on are visible on the floor.

  • Dark trap: Affects the whole room and makes the screen completely black. You can use a Cat's Eye to dispel the effect.
  • Pitfall trap: Drops the player to a previous floor. Enemies on that floor will reappear.
  • Damage trap: Stops the player and deals damage over time.
  • Ailment traps: Inflicts an ailment on the player.
  • Warp trap: Warps the player to another room on the same floor at random.

Center Room

The conditions for releasing a door on a specific floor is the same no matter which door is being opened.

  • Floor 1: A specific stat must be at 50 or more.
  • Floor 2: A specific combat expertise must be at 4-0 or more. (Attack · Spin · Rush · Shot · Rapid · Destruction Magic · Curse Magic)
  • Floor 3: A specific LNC attribute (Law / Neutral / Chaos).
  • Floor 4: A specific production chain expertise must be at 2-0 or more. (Synthesis · Swordsmith · Arms Maker · Craftsmanship)
  • Floor 5: Kill all enemies in each of the 8 floors.
    • These conditions can be skipped if a WTC Disc is used.

Boss Strategy

Atavaka will spawn in with a large group of enemies. Nerve and Mind are extremely effective on Atavaka. Be mindful of the Sarasvati and Kinari; as seen on previous floors, their strategy is to dodge Shot attacks.

End chest will drop Orbs or Documents of National Defense, which can be given to Class A Devil Buster (♂) for the "茫漠領域調査録" ("Desert Area Study Record") key item. From there, give it to the Class A Devil Buster (♀) NPC in the dungeon lobby for the Atavaka plugin.

Cave of Life

  • Location: Nakano (X19, Y19)
  • Requirements: Character has C-Class DB License or higher
  • Trade in Orb drops from Boundless Domain for Player Passives

Plasma NPC "Embodiment of Thought":

  • Draw strength: Exchange Orbs for Player Passive skills (max, affinity and limit cap increases)
    • Each Orb color corresponds to a different Affinity type
  • Exchange:
    • 5 Orbs to "Orb of Hope" :1 of each of the 5 colored Orbs to make 1 Orb of Hope
    • "Orb Boxes" to "[Orb]": Exchange Orb Boxes for another Orb of a specific type
    • "Orb of Sin" to "Orb of Hope" / "The 5 Orbs": Exchange Orb of Sin for another Orb of a specific type
  • Restore "Orbs of Hope": Disassemble Orb of Hope into the original 5 colored Orbs
