Story

Snakeman commends you on your first job and offers you more work, but unfortunately you and Cerberus both are still bothered about the incident that occurred in Home II. Seeing this, Snakeman tells you the fact that another demon attack could happen at any time and, at your current power, the end result would be the same. You must become stronger.

He then speaks about the new job; a strange tunnel has appeared in Suginami. A strange lithograph was discovered inside which responds to a "plate" and teleports plate holders elsewhere. The job was commissioned by the Master of the Cathedral of Shadows, and you head to the Cathedral of Shadows to learn more. The Master explains the purpose of the investigation is the structure of the plate and how it is made. He wants you to collect Soul Shards - extremely pure forms of spiritual element dropped from Kodamas - and bring them back.

You agree, head to Suginami Tunnels to collect Soul Shards, and then return to the Master to deliver the requested items. He explains that demons are made up of the same spiritual body as the Soul Shards. To appear in the physical world, they must cover themselves in a "shell." No matter how you fuse or raise their strength, all demons are encased inside the same spiritual body. He hands you a report, and you deliver that report to Snakeman.

Now, Snakeman has a new job for you out in the Suginami wastes. Lately, delivering relief supplies from Shinjuku Babel to Home III has become difficult, with many dangerous demons appearing along the transportation route. Lack of support will interfere with Home III's operations...

How to Initiate

Talk to Snakeman after completing Act 1: A Demon Friend.

Walkthrough

1. Talk with Snakeman; "Talk about work".
   1. You obtain 30 Magic Stones, 10 Revival Orbs and 200 Magnetites.
2. Talk with Master of the Cathedral of Shadows; "Talk about work" and next "Ask about dungeon inspections".
   1. You obtain Orb of Speed (Small) (Sample) and Suginami Tunnels Plate (Bronze).
   2. As you attempt to leave the Cathedral, the Master of the Cathedral will stop you; speak to him again to receive a Quickly Produced Hathor, Quickly Produced Nekomata, or Quickly Produced Kikuri-Hime.
3. Collect 5 Soul Shards.
   • Head toward Suginami Tunnels and go through Suginami Tunnels (Bronze).
     1. Obtainable from Kodamas.
   • OR Obtainable from trade with other players.
4. Talk with Master of the Cathedral of Shadows.
   1. You obtain Soul Shard Report.
5. Report to Snakeman.

Notes

• Kodamas and Rowdy Avatar Kodamas in Suginami drop 1 and 3 Soul Shards respectively, but the drop chance is very low. Kodamas in Suginami Tunnels drop them often.

• Speak to the Master of the Cathedral of Shadows after completion of this act with the Quickly Produced demon you received earlier to receive 5,000 Soul points for that demon. See the WILDCAT page for more information on how to use them.
