Story

Yamamoto has just received communication from Snakeman that he needs a talented DB sent to Home III, and that it has something to do with Azura. You happen to be available for the job, so you return to Home III to check on things. Snakeman informs you that Azura has disappeared somewhere, and he has a sneaking suspicion that she's left to investigate the Suginami Tunnels with a Plate he's never seen before. He would look for her himself but he has to take care of all the DB newbies and look after Home III, so he hands you the plate.

You go to the Suginami Tunnels only to find the place infested with Forneus. At the half-way point, you find Azura safe and in high spirits. Something feels "different" about this dungeon compared to the others, and she won't leave until she finds the item she's looking for. The door at the end of the dungeon won't open for her, and she asks you to help her get it open. Once you collect the Glittering Ore and open the door, you step in only to find a strange sight.

An Eligor defeats a Chatterskull which, where it dies, a skull-shaped artifact rises out of the floor in a beam of light. The Eligor calls it the "Jewel of the Ten Commandments," but before he can say anything further, you take a step forward and startle him. He calls his Forneus lackies, then charges you for the right to the artifact.

After his defeat, his body vanishes - and the camera cuts to Setsu, who calls out Eligor's name as he whips around to face a myriad of other demons in his presence, one of whom you've seen once before. A few of the demons comment on Eligor's weakness, allowing a human to defeat him, with Andras eyeing the situation from the back and Setsu re-evaluating his plans, whatever they may be.

Back in Suginami Tunnels, the artifact addresses you and calls itself the "Kingdom's Crystal." Azura walks in behind you, fascinated by the crystal as you answer its questions about your intentions. Once you answer, it becomes satisfied and allows you to take it from its place. Azura promises to go back to Snakeman as long as you take the crystal to the Central Control Room, and she uses an Ariadne's Thread on you to send you back.

You hand over the crystal to Yamamoto, who marvels at it, when Setsu enters the room and briskly takes the crystal before leaving with quick gratitude for helping Azura. While Yamamoto thanks you for your hard work, Setsu broods over your growing power and the threat you pose to him...

How to Initiate

Leave the Control Room after completing Act 9: Setsu's Anxiety. Then return after the cutscene and talk to Yamamoto the Steel-Willed.

Walkthrough

  1. Talk to Yamamoto the Steel-Willed.
  2. Head to Home III.
  3. Enter Virtual Battle and talk to Snakeman.
    1. You obtain Suginami Tunnels Plate (Kingdom).
  4. Head to Suginami Tunnels and enter Suginami Tunnels (Kingdom). Remember to form a party beforehand.
  5. Find two Glittering Ore on the first floor. A chest with one Glittering Ore will appear after you clear each of the two small rooms.
  6. Head down to the second floor, where you will find Azura. You can choose to ignore her.
  7. Head down again to the third floor and find the locked door. Open it with the two Glittering Ores from the first floor.
  8. Head down to the boss room (A Cut-scene will be played upon entering the boss room). Defeat Column Dweller Eligor and his group of Forneus.
  9. Talk to the Kingdom Crystal and answer the questions. These will affect your Alignment.
    • “Why do you lay your hands on me human?”
      • Option 1: “To protect the treasure of the gods.” (守る) (Law Shift)
      • Option 2: “To take the treasure of the gods.” (手にする)(Chaos Shift) “Why do you fight your enemies?”
      • Option 1: “To achieve peace.” (平和) (Law Shift)
      • Option 2: “To obtain power.” (力を得る) (Chaos Shift) “Is the Kingdom you rule based on Law? Or based on Power?”
      • Option 1: Law (法の上) (Heavy Law Shift)
      • Option 2: Power (力の下) (Heavy Chaos Shift)
      • Option 3: Neither (どちらでもない) (No Shift)
  1. Talk to Azura. You will be teleported to Shinjuku Babel.
  2. Head to the Control Room and talk to Yamamoto the Steel-Willed.

Note

  • For a first-time run, it's recommended to form a Party before going in. Getting the Glittering Ore will be quicker in a party, and the boss is fairly formidable for a new player.
  • If you are the plate holder, talk to Kingdom Crystal, then to Azura.
  • If you are not the plate holder, just talk to Azura.
